Brooklyn – Homeowner V. Sampieri says his house is being ruined by an out-of-control builder next door.
He claims the contractor built a wall that wraps around his W. 7th St. roof, and the wall has blocked his gutters and caused water damage to his home, and the city’s Buildings Department has done little to stop.

“I feel disrespected – I’m paying taxes but I’m a nobody,” said Sampieri, 70, a retired jewelry maker.
The most recent inspection came only after the media called the Buildings Department to ask about the case.
While the case is being investigated, building officials said that so far they have found no evidence that the neighboring structure is too close to Sampieri’s home – and that it might turn out that Sampieri’s roof encroaches on his neighbor’s property.
