Health officials have identified at least five infants believed to have been infected during such procedures by Type 1 herpes, commonly carried by adults. One baby died and another may have suffered brain damage, health officials said.
Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, the commissioner of health and mental hygiene called upon parents to consider other religiously viable options, including using a tube or sponge. But he did not ban the practice.
Not all boys are infected. Youre making it sound like all mohalim have herpes and all the boys are infected. I know for a fact that thank G-d my son does not have the infection.
youre right, maybe the nurseries were disinfected. So then how come the pediatricians THEMSELVES (I heard it firsthand) don’t know why the infection is still rampant. Isn’t that food for thought?
Simple answer, What does it tell you when girls and non- Jewish boys are clean and Jewish boys are infected?
Is it possible that the ritual of metzitazh b’peh, where the babies open wound comes in direct contact with a strange adults mouth, is the culprit?
Also how do you know that the nurseries where the infected babies came from werent checked and found to be clean?
Maybe the babies are getting herpes in the hospital? Have they thought about that? Think about it, there’s still a staphloccocus, (staph for short) infection going around the Maimondes nursery. This has been going on for more than a year. Why don’t they investigate the hospitals first before blaming the mohalim?
