NYC Mayoral Aide Weighs Race Against State Senator, And Has Backing Of Brooklyn Conservatives

A potential candidate to oppose state Sen. Diane Savino has scooped up support from Brooklyn Conservatives but has yet to touch base with Staten Island party leaders.
Brooklynite Fred Kreizman, 28, citywide coordinator for the Mayor’s Community Assistance Unit (CAU), has been feeling out supporters for a possible run this year against Ms. Savino (D-North Shore/Brooklyn).
“He’s a serious candidate,” said Brooklyn Conservative Party chairman Jerry Kassar.
“We were extremely pleased when he came to us.”
But Island Conservative chairman Carmine Ragucci said he hadn’t heard from Kreizman yet, “He hasn’t surfaced at all,” Ragucci said.
“We certainly would welcome contact from him.”
Kreizman is also said to have reached out to Brooklyn Republicans, including state Sen. Martin Golden, for support.
