Two New York City police officers have been disciplined for accepting gifts from former students at the police academy.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly docked Sgt. Rosalind Newkirk for accepting a digital camera valued at $246.94 and Officer Jerry Diaz for accepting a New York Yankees jersey that cost $200 from students who graduated in July.
They also have been transferred to a less prestigious patrol assignments.
