Poughkeepsie, NY – Kosher Barbecue Celebration For Lag Ba’omer

Poughkeepsie, NY – Chabad of Mid Hudson Valley will hold its annual Lag Ba’omer Bonfire and Barbecue Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on the grounds of the Chabad Lubavitch Center, 63 Vassar Road, Poughkeepsie.

The kosher barbecue will feature R.J. Lewis, who will juggle and perform fire feats. He has appeared at Atlantic City and at the White House.

There will also be an interactive archery demonstration for children and adults, fire juggling, a moonwalk ride and music. Lag Ba’omer observes the day Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, author of the book of Kabbalah, “Zohar,” died. He asked that his death day be celebrated as a day of rejoicing.
