Queens, NY – The Police Department, which has been installing cameras on streets throughout the city to help nab criminals, has now turned the lens on itself, installing a camera inside the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst in the wake of the theft of three guns and about $5,000 cash.

The thefts have sparked an Internal Affairs Bureau probe because they were likely committed by cops or civilians working at the precinct.
At the same time, access to the property room, from which the items were pilfered, is being strictly monitored by precinct supervisors and a camera that has been installed in plain view, is pointing at the entrance.
