    New York – The New York state Public Service Commission has approved a three-year rate increase by United Water New York, which provides the drinking water supply to most of Rockland, as well as parts of Orange and Bergen counties.

    The average bill for a single-family house will increase 15.7 percent in 2007, 1.5 percent in 2008, and 1.1 percent in 2009.
    For the average multi-family dwelling, increases are projected at 29.7 percent in 2007, 2.3 percent in 2008, and 1.8 percent in 2009.
