Israel – Just two weeks after El Al placated haredi rancor over Shabbat desecration, the nation’s airline fired its veteran chief rabbi – Avshalom Katzir.

El Al said that the layoff of Katzir, was part of streamlining measures. However, haredi sources in El Al said that Katzir was superfluous.
“He did not help El Al in the recent negotiations with the haredim because he is a religious Zionist,” said the source. “And kosher supervision of food is already taken care of by the caterers.”
Dear Anonymous,
How did u get such a low price with Continental to Israel? Where are you flying out of? The lowest I was able to get from ewr in the beginning of February was $717..and that was with a coupon!
I look forward to your response.
Thank you.
Fly continental. They are a better airline, great security, leaves ON TIME and arrives on time unlike EL AL.
BETTER SERVICE< BETTER FOOD, better seats.......... Continental also has better PRICING and negotiations if you book online or call them. I got a price of 771.00 called them up and they gave me a price of 665.00 after telling them I DO NOT WANT TO FLY EL AL and want to be a customer with them.
I can’t wait to see who’s son-in-law gets the job.
no, the price is going up because the Haredi rabbis are getting a higher salary than Katzir.
What a surprise. This was one of the conditions in the recent agreement. Katzir should have prevented the Shabbos desecration but he proved to be totally ineffective so he had to go.
Will the price of tickets come down now?????????????
