North Potomac, MD – A large search is going on for Rachel Smith, from North Potomac, along with her friend Rachel Crites, they have
been missing for the last few days.

They went out together to Georgetown, and haven't been seen since. Rachel Smith is 16 and is too old for an "Amber Alert". Rachel's mom is preschool teacher at B'nai Tzedek.
They were in a dark blue Subaru Outback Station Wagon with a black cargo box
on the roof. The license plate number is Maryland MBJ 485. Anyone who has
any knowledge of where these girls might be or has seen the vehicle, please
call Montgomery County Police ASAP call

The girls have been found dead on Friday near the West Virginia border.
update: THEY WERE FOUND ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 2ND, DEAD NEAR THE BORDER OF WEST VIRGINIA. THEY APPARENTLY COMMITED SUICIDE

Families of both girls said they are extremely worried, especially after one of the teens wrote some troubling notes in her diary.
The father of a missing teen, Troy Crites, said, “They’ve also left a note that was quite disturbing about … being buried together. It’s like a suicide note of types.”
Anyone with information about the girls is asked to contact the Jefferson County sheriff’s office.
