Brooklyn, NY – Don’t expect the two long-feuding sons of the late Williamsburg Grand Rebbe Moses Teitelbaum to break bread together for Passover.

A technical religious dispute has erupted over bread itself, dividing the Satmar Hasidic community anew.
Rabbi Aron Teitelbaum, the older brother, issued a new ruling in favor of Arizona-grown wheat’s being acceptable for Passover matzo.
Rabbi Zalmen Teitelbaum took the other side and didn’t want anything to do with them, said one observer familiar with the community.
The question is how much dew there is in Arizona,” said Rabbi Menachem Genack, head of the Orthodox Union, an organization that certifies food as kosher. “It’s a new controversy.”
Some say that it’s not a problem.
“Our rabbi said [the Arizona wheat] is good. Actually, I was there at the cutting,” said a man who answered the phone at Williamsburg’s Pupa bakery, which along with a bakery in upstate Kiryas Joel, took the new wheat.
But the questions surrounding the wheat from the Grand Canyon State mean that some want to avoid the imported grain.
The Arizona harvest “wasn’t done according to a high standard,” said Rabbi Nat Fisher, 41, of Williamsburg. “I’m refraining from using it. If something is in question now, we don’t use it,” he added. [Nydailynews]
these bums worrying about Arizomatzos!
THeir heads are filled with Gebrokts. Year round!
just to let you know that Duvid Rosenberg the Mnahal from the Zalys Matzoh bakery in Wmb”g, is not saying that its Ooser. he is just saying that Reb Aron is making it he dont want! he spoke with HaGuan Reb Bentzion Stroser Neitra Dian in BP & to HaGuan Reb Yisroel Tzvi Brodi Avad Sharei Oirah BP. and after a long argument about Halucha, they all saw that the one and only problem is Aron Teitelbaum!!! so thats the reason why all Rabunam are supporting the Arizona wheat. and thanks to the Holy Satmar Rabbe C”K Muran Reb Aron Shlita that on his credite all the Bakerys are taking it. Koi Le’Choi!!!
If Wmsbg is going to use it (or some thing equivalent i.e. California wheat) next year (or in 2 years), then why shouldn’t I use it this year?
Just wait and see!
So what is the Daily News saying about the Arizona matzos? may I eat it or not?
If either of the two sides were actually out to do the One Above’s will, then it wouldn’t bother them that s/o else calls himself satmar, cuz we are all here to serve Him, so, to the contrary, if the other group is serving Hashem, then what’s the diff. if they call themselves this or that.
To anon. 12:32
Are you saying that satmar relied on a heter from Belz?!?!?!?!?
To anonymous 11:14:
You are so right. The only thing they care about is who can out do the other.
To all of Satmar: What happened to you? Where did your Chasiddus go to? How can you call yourselves “Heimeshe” when you sound like a bunch of children arguing in the playground?
If your answers are going to be “cursing me out” don’t bother responding. I’m waiting for an intelligent answer……….
Ir ale farshtein nish der inyan. The best thing for the rebbe business is machlokes which is proven to significantly increase donations. Reb Aaron and Reb Zalman realized that the buzz of their machloikes was becoming yesterday’s news. Baruch Hashem we have many new machlokesen and scandals that now make for better lashon hara. So they realized that they need to quickly come up with a new machloikes so that they can remain in the headlines. As a result of a coin flip, it was determined that Reb Aaron should be matir and Reb Zalman should assur and they sent their gabbaim to find something they could have this machloikes about. Don’t how they cam up with Arizona wheat. Frankly, I think it was a stupid selection as I don’t think Arizona wheat will drum up much contributions.
anon 1232 i see that you really dont know whats going on here your just cursing like a dog so i’ll explain you alittle!! the wheat that we used till know was GOOD just that its a big problem by the time of cutting it because by the time its ripe you have to cut it in the next two weeks if not the wheat starts to open ontop and then if any rain will come it’ll get CHUMATZ! so whats great with the arizona wheat is, that its a desert so NO RAIN in the area so no problem with open wheat! SO HOW CAN YOU TELL ME THAT THIS YEAR THEY HAD TO CUT IT IN A YOM TOV SHVUAS ‘WITCH IS ONLY 2 DAYS’ (even here in ny or nj they always a period of time approx 2 weeks) so please dont post silly comments with no clue!!! (any one with any question about this subject should be free to ask i’ll be more then happy to answer him)
Unless you have been with him 24/7 how do you know that he didnt say what I claimed he said.
You may not have heard it in the speech/s you listend to but he said in another speech.
You can listen to him saying what I said, on the Ahorni hotline, the speech is still broadcast on there, its somewhere between 31 to 36 minutes into the speech, its a speech he held a couple of months ago in his Yeshiva for the buchrim.

Oh an by the way, talking about kilas. He admits in this speech that I just mentioned that this year, the very first year that he is using Arizona wheat, there was a big problem, because the day they had to cut the wheat came out on the Yom Tov of Shavois last year, so they had too either cut too early or too late and they had to rely on the heter of hefsed meruba (by the Belzer Dayan of Montreal, who has since past away, Zatza”l) to be able to use Arizona wheat this year!! So there goes your Kilas Argument too!
anon 1024 i guess that you have some hearing problems or you’re just turning his words on your side!!! HE NEVER SAID THIS WORDS!!! what he said is that its true that everyone ate this and IT WAS KOSHER but it was combined with alot of kilas and this wheat is with out this kilas!! THATS ALL WHAT HE SAID NOT ONE WORD MORE OR LESS….
The article credits the comment that “The brother automaticaly opposed it” to an UN-NAMED observer.
It doesnt take too much brains to understand on which side of this dispute that UN-Named observer stands.
Reb Zalmen didnt change to the NEW source of wheat because he is not going to change something that has been used in Matzos for Pesach by our Rebbe’s and fathers for the past 50 years plus in the USA.
TRADITION!
On the other hand Reb Aron who supports the use of the Arizona grown wheat (which by the way is not his discovery, it has been used for at least two years by Pupa and other Matah bakeries) mentioned in his speechs of support of Arizona wheat, that “it hurts to say this, but there is a great possibility that our father and Rebba’s of the past generations, post World War 2 up to last year may have eaten Chametz all these years as a result of eating non-Arizona grown wheat”.
I hope this sheds some light on the thinking and positions of the 2 Brothers.
A Guten Moed
funny but this is the fact because he said its ok the other brother said no!!! (he said that the problem with this wheet is that its hard to make niker on it……. )
It’s all about the MONEY folks.
You may not see how it pretains to money but I assure you if you dig you will find that the issue is GELT!
Why does Reb Aron have to come up with new things every holiday?
Did he see it by his father?
Ich farshtay nisht. Why is Rav Zalman opposing it, just because the Rebbe paskened it was kosher?
Williamsburg opposes it just because the brother paskened it was mutar??
