Rye, NY – 21-year-old single mother died Friday night after she was thrown from the Mind Scrambler, the same ride where a youngster died three years ago at the landmark suburban park, officials said. Park officials acknowledged that a safety precaution created after the 2004 fatality was ignored before Garin’s death.

The deadly ride was immediately shut down for the rest of the summer as authorities tried to determine what happened in the final seconds before Garin was hurled to her death from the gyrating ride.[ap]

The rye playland is a major attraction for the Jewish community on Choel Hamoed, and year round yeshivas that rent the place to take students for outings. [vin]

There was no mechanical error or fault. Amusement Parks ARE fun, if you play it safe and follow the rules. This woman disregarded the rules, similar to how a drunk driver disregards the rules. Should the highway take the blame in cases of DWI? No, and the park should not take the blame for the stupidity of the now deceased. No matter where you go in life, you must be careful around heavy machinery. Stay safe!

Amusement parks are not as amusing as thought.
