Australia – THOUSANDS of foreign doctors working in Australia will be the subject of an emergency security review after stunning revelations two Queensland medicos are being questioned in relation to the UK terror plot.

Dr Mohamed Haneef, arrested at Brisbane Airport at midnight on Monday with a one-way ticket to India via Malaysia, worked in the UK at Liverpool’s Halton Hospital with one of the terror suspects.

The suspect had allegedly used Dr Haneef’s English mobile telephone chip and internet access since Dr Haneef moved to Australia in September last year.

Recruited in a global campaign to relieve Australia’s acute doctor shortage, Indian-born Dr Haneef, 27, was described by colleagues as polite and an excellent doctor. [dailytelegraph]
