    Please spread the word…

There will be a hesped this Sunday evening 8:30pm, Beis Medrash Bais Shlomo, Rechov Brand 13, Har Nof, Jerusalem.

We expect the Binyamina Rov, Shlita to participate and are hoping to have a family representative from the USA (via phone).

Rav Taub was a wonderful caring person. He was a serious good person who genuinely cared about people and had for many years an open door and an open heart. He touched my life and the life of my family. He will be sorely missed.

He had 6 children before the Holocaust and ALL of them died in the Holocaust, including his wife and his parents. He started from scratch and had 9 children before losing his second wife and later losing his daughter and one of his son in laws. He was never bitter.

May he daven for us all, and most who had the privilage to be with him have fond memories. Baruch dyan haemes. Baltimore has lost a great man.

Rabbi Taub lost his family during the Holocaust then remarried and built a fine Torah family in America. He said that at all simchas, he kept on thinking about what age his first children would have been had they survived. Yet — I never saw him without a smile on his face. His kindness was legendary, and his concern for all yidden.

After the way, he was one of the few mohelim left in Europe, and he performed thousands of brissen in the first two post war years (I think he told me 3,000). We had the zchus to have both of our sons brissen performed by Rabbi Taub. He used no shield, and was amazingly quick. He said we could expect healing in 24 hours, but both of my sons were pretty much healed after 12 hours. No — I don’t know how he did this, but just as the Gemara says that someone who did not see the Simchas Bais HaShoevah has not seen simcha, someone who did not see Rabbi Taub perform a bris has never seen a bris!

Before my first son’t bris, he asked if we could pick him up (he didn’t drive) so he could come over to see the baby. I couldn’t go, so my wife went in her car. She said she was kind of nervous since he identified with Satmar and was a very chareidi person. She didn’t know what to do or how to behave. Rabbi Taub got into the back seat of the car, and spoke with her warmly and pleasantly throughout the whole drive. He set her completely at ease.

One final story. Once, at a simcha, he wished to quiet the crowd so he could say something. He picked up a glass and spoon so he could make a chiming sound to get peoples attention. It turned out that he actually ended up with a paper cup and a plastic spoon. He laughed, and said that this was one of the problems with the modern world!

I have known him since I was a child and learned in cheder with his two oldest sons. I learned with him many early mornings and davened in his shul. I was honored to have had him as was my son’s Mohel. My most touching memory is the small shofer he blew on the Yomim Noiroem that he had with him during the war. When he blew it you heard the cries of the Neshomois that never left the camps. Also his favorite niggun for Simchas Torah, “the piet, “Lhisvadois Elegolah Ke He Melech Al Kol Hooretz”. He should tell the Me;ech that it is time for Hisvadous and Legolah, and how badly we need Moshiach and the Guelah. I am sure he will be a Mailitz Yosher for all of his talmedim, mispallim and all of Klall Yisroel. Borich Dian HoEmes.

i knew the rebbe when i was a little boy. he was very kind and only wanted to teach torah to yidden. no one really knows how many yiddishe neshomos he was mashpiah over the years that he was in Baltimore. now he will be back with reb yoilish in a better place. it is not only a link severed but chassidus in baltimore is now in a void.

The Rov, Zy”a was really a tzadik. In addition to his children and rebbetzin he has at least two brothers. The Binyamina Rav, Shlita (now residing in Geula) and the Holminer Rav of Boro Park. May the Rov, Zt”l be Melitz yosher for his family, his friends and all Klal Yisroel.
