Schumer said with or without a proposed casino in Monticello, the highway needs to be widened.

“The only good news here is the cost of actually putting in the new roadway is going to be easier, because when they originally planned it, they planned it for three lanes,” he said. “When you drive it, you will see it is wide enough to expand another lane on each side without major excavation.”

With or without a casino, Schumer said the highway should have been widened years ago because of the normal traffic volume. [midhudsonnews]

it should of been done a long time ago for the summer resident’s, but as we know we have to fight for every little thing like the cell phone towers in the adirondocks, the excuse they use these hasids are only passing by ?who do they think they are they own the place nobody told them to go on vacation in the catskills it’s their problem that they have a shabbos that’s whats causing the traffic on the hwy let them fend for themselfs like they have their own E.M.T.’S, but the rebnoi shel olam allways listens and we don’t have to rely on busar ve’dom we take action on our own and the bashefar helft.
