Brooklyn, NY – The city continues to respond to last week’s severe storm as the Office of Emergency Management opens a Disaster Recovery Center on Monday in Brooklyn.

The OEM announced the opening of the center for individuals impacted by last week’s tornado and severe weather after state, city and federal officials toured the storm damaged areas on Monday.
The center will provide one central location where individuals in need of services, referrals or information can access a number of city, state and non-profit entities. Officials said the center will offer benefit and housing referrals, case management, health inforation, new clothing, insurance information and translation assistance.
The center opened Monday on 415 Ovington Avenue in Brooklyn at the MAry White Ovington School and will operate through Friday between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The city continues to make progress clearing debris and reopening streets that were closed as a result of the storm. [1010wins]
