New York, NY – A veteran probation officer jumped out a 10th-floor window of the lower Manhattan courthouse where he worked.
The 20-year veteran landed on a second-floor scaffold outside 100 Centre St. & 1 Hogan Place, and was pronounced DOA.

Department of Probation spokesman Jack Ryan said the officer, 59, was assigned to Manhattan Investigations, preparing presentencing reports. "He was a good officer," Ryan said. "He will be missed."
