Israel – Israel's only crematorium has been heavily damaged by fire, and police said Thursday that arson is suspected.
Burning bodies violates Orthodox Jewish law, which calls for a person to be interred intact.

No arrests have been made, but Yehuda Meshi-Zahav, an ultra-Orthodox activist who heads the ZAKA rescue service, has been summoned for questioning on suspicion of trespassing, police said.

Alon Nativ, the crematorium's operator, said the facility has been running for two years, but its location hadn't been disclosed for fear it would be attacked. Nativ accused ZAKA of discovering the crematorium and posting pictures of it on the Internet. [Chicago Tribune]

At least 20% of Israel’s population is not Jewish, so what does any body care? With only one crematorium, it’s not likely they’re servicing even that much. I hope this guy gets the book thrown at him.

Kosher most of them keep, Shabbos is one thing (Tinokos SheNishbu), but this is something we call “Shev V’Al Taaseh”. A Bandeh BeHeimas.
