Vestal, NY – Fire Forces Evacuation of Pre-Kindergarten Meetng at JCC

Vestal, NY – An electrical fire tonight forced the evacuation and canceled a pre-kindergarten orientation of about 70 parents at the Jewish Community Center on Clubhouse Road.

JCC Sports Director Tom Foley said a club member walked past the building, noticed smoke billowing from the corner of the roof and alerted the staff. Employees evacuated everyone in the building and called 911, Foley said.
Fire Department responded and got immediately the fire under control. The building sustained only minor damages. [pressconnects]
