New York – In light of the upcoming Jewish holidays, the Office of Consumer Protection announced that it has begun to survey prices of kosher food items by looking for fluctuations in pricing to help ensure that retailers do not arbitrarily raise prices.

In the past, some retailers in the New York metropolitan area have increased prices of kosher items as the holidays approached, now the Office of Consumer Protection is conducting the price survey as a preventative action.
Consumers are encouraged to report these incidents to the Office of Consumer Protection.
If it is determined that retailers are increasing prices without justification, the Office of Consumer Protection will take appropriate action.
The inspectors will be shocked when they see the regular prices!!

Can someone explain why the jewish community is always getting ripped off when buying kosher food.
With the way prices are skyrocketing these days, these stores will just cry poverty, and use that to justify raising prices yet again during the holiday season. The costs have gone up significantly, and it seems everyone just wants more and more at each level of the distribution process.
Yeah,like I went into the pizza shop the other day and potato knishes went up in price from $2.00 to $3.00 and I see a sign on the wall… Cheese.. Chesse all beacuse of Cheese. Do these stores think we are fools? well we are, and the only way to stop them from taking advantage is to stop patronizing them.
