Judge Andrea Simpson adjourned the matter to November 13, with AHC continuing to seek the return of the goods.

AHC board member Allen Bolaffi said that Rabbi Engel, who is in a long-running dispute with the shul over his terminated employment, has not returned the property.

They include a car, furniture, fridges, freezers and the shul's Pesach crockery.

"We especially need our crockery back," Bolaffi said.

Ron Bellman, Rabbi Engel's lawyer, said that Rabbi Engel has not returned the goods, while an arbitration between the shul and the rabbi, brokered by the Sydney Beth Din and the London Beth Din, is proceeding.

But Bolaffi said the AHC regards the stalled arbitration as having ended. [ajn]

This long tragedy is a series of three acts, all of which shows the complete fairlure of the rabbinate in dealing with one of its own. This lunatic rabbi refuses to lave a small community half way around the world because he believes that the Rebbe told him to go and die there. What a tragedy. Let these people get one with their lives, and some one some one instruct this guy before he destroys himself and becomes unemployable anywhere in the yiddish world.

To a small Jewish community, Pesach utensils can be more important than worldly goods. I find that emphasis very touching and insightful as to their priorities. I hope they get their goods back.

This long saga with this Lubab rabbi is starting to go overboard. The story is that apparently this small community took a Lubab rov had him for a couple of years and now want him gone. For some reason he won’t go quietly and is using all kinds of tactics. My chaver, when a shul is so adamant that they don’t want you it it’s time to go.Stop making everybody so meshigeh.Gey gezinterheit.
I don’t know how easy it’s going to be for Lubabs to get shelehs after such a story
