The city’s contingency plan is up and running and a full activation of O.E.M. is requested.

Under the contingency plan, riders from La Guardia and Kennedy airports may choose between group rides at a flat fare, group rides at a zone-based fare, or non-group rides at normal metered rates.
At other locations, drivers are required to pick up multiple passengers and to charge fares on a zone-based system.
The group fare between Manhattan and Kennedy Airport is $30 per person, while group fare between Manhattan and La Guardia is $20 per person.

The city may at any time cancel the contingency plan if the TLC determines that the strike is not significantly effecting taxi service.

While the cabbies claimed that they had more members striking this time, the streets of Brooklyn don’t seem to be as yellow with parked taxi cabs as they were last time. That’s probably why people don’t seem to be having such a hard time hailing a cab.
