Manhattan, NY +Explosives Found Near Consulate+ NYPD Bomb Squad and all other services are on the scene investigating two explosives thrown and one of the devices went off in front of the building of the Mexican Consulate at 27 East 39th Street and Park Avenue in New York City, at this time a crime scene has been set up. No injuries reported.

Police now say that the two devices appear “similar” to those thrown at the British Consulate in May 2005. Law enforcement officials are investigating the possibility that the 2005 incident is related to today’s incident.

A State Department official said the building was evacuated due to “a broken window.” The Consulate General was not at the building at the time of the incident.
