Just a little over one year ago, Spitzer won 69 percent of the vote. When he took office in Janaury, his favorable rating was a whopping 75 percent. Five months ago, 64 percent viewed him favorably and 55 percent gave him a positive approval rating.
As Siena spokesman Steve Greenberg so aptly put it: “All that’s changed in a New York minute.”
“Eliot Spitzer’s standing with voters has fallen faster and further than any politician in recent New York history,” Greenberg continued. “Everything may not have changed on day one but from the voters’ perspective, everything about Governor Spitzer changed in year one.”
Asked whether they would vote for Spitzer if his 2010 re-election bid was held today, only 25 percent – and only 37 percent of Democrats – said they would, while 49 percent said they would prefer “someone else,” although no specific opponent was named.
The poll found that Spitzer’s fall was tied more than anything else to his controversial driver’s license proposal. When asked whether his handling of that hot-button issue increased or decreased their approval of the governor, 52 percent of respondents said it had decreased their approval. [nydailynewsblog]

IF we wanted them we would move to mexico, not bring Mexico here! if anyone actually bothered to read the poll you would also see a significant drop in saint rudy’s approval at home in the two years since the siena poll started.
