Washington – A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says Hillary Rodham Clinton will not be confirmed as secretary of state Tuesday because of a single senator’s objection.

Sen. Reid’s spokesman Jim Manley said Republican John Cornyn of Texas has indicated he will block a move to confirm Sen. Clinton by a unanimous floor vote later in the day.

But Mr. Manley also said there would be a roll call vote Wednesday. And he predicted that “she will receive overwhelming bipartisan support” at that time.

The Senate does plan to confirm several of President-elect Barack Obama’s Cabinet by unanimous vote later Tuesday.

Neither Sen. Cornyn nor his office was immediately available for comment.

Senator John Cornyn for President in ,2012. At least there’s one person on Capitol Hill who’s not drinking the koolaid.

Some people will do anything for their 15 minutes of fame. A reason for his objection would have helped. Perhaps he is just a sore loser.

Cornyn is known for doing anything for attention.

Cornyn is blocking it because of concerns about the conflict of interest regarding the hundreds of millions of dollars that the Clinton Foundation and Clinton Presidential Library have received from foreign governments, the same governments that she will have to negotiate with as Secretary of State.

Cornyn second in the spot light is but a footnote in history. While Hillary’s eight years as First-lady, her eight years as Senator and her tenure as Secretary of State are historic! She’s been loyal to her constituents and deserves our support.

Midwesterner is right. The Clintons are in the pockets of foreign governments, especially Arab. Yet we think Hillary will be a fair negotiator with countries whose interests do not always align with ours, let alone Israel? Too bad with all the Obama-mania, it is not politically correct to challenge any of this. Including his tax-cheating nominee for Treasury.
