A hacker has hit a credit card processing center in one of the biggest data breaches ever.
Heartland Payment System, a New York, NJ based company that handles an estimated 100 million transactions a month, said the hacker compromised more than 100 million credit and debit card transactions.
The stolen data includes names, card numbers and expiration dates.
The company said you might not realize you’re a victim until you see your statement.

perhaps he hacked into the system to payoff all those with an outstanding balance. part of the new obama stimulus package
The hackers will probably spend less than my wife 🙂
So what do we do about it? Monitor the account continually? And who is responsible for that? I believe that you are covered by everything over $50.
Life is a risk.
But look at the alternative. Not so great either!
if your at risk ask the governement for a bail out!
I got a phone call about 10 days ago from my credit card fraud department that they realized someone was making interesting small frequent charges and it turned out to be that my card was compromised (not sure if it was part of this scheme). they just closed that card and they me another one. I wasn’t responsible for any of the charges.
