Monroe, NY – Monroe Village Police have charged a 14-year-old Monroe youth in connection with etching a 20-foot-by-20-foot swastika in the snow on one of the downtown ponds where people skate.

Police alerted to the symbol made notorious because of its Nazi associations. Police said the large swastika was visible from the walking path that surrounds the Mill Pond. Officers removed it.
Following a series of leads, village police arrested the 14-year-old on. He was charged with first-degree aggravated harassment, a felony, and his case was referred to Orange County Family Court.

A felony?! Why is this even illegal? Yes, the kid is dumb, but the parents should sue the cops.
I think it’s a despicable act on the part of this kid, but a felony? That’s just over the top.
This is a kid’s prank. How dare we charge a child with a felony over something carved in snow???? I don’t care what he wrote. You don’t like it, cover it up, or melt it. But you don’t ruin a kid’s life over a stupid prank. Have you never done something stupid though wrong, with you were a kid. Thank G-d nobody charged me for my childhood pranks.
Does anyone here think that this punishment will make him and his friends LOVE Jews?

a kid that scribles a small swastica on a wall in a spur of the moment act is stupid and should just get a warning. a kid that makes an effort to create this type of act shows that he is on a mission far greater then just simple stupidity and therfore, needs bigger punishment to make him aware of the bad thing this is, and who knows perhaps he can stil be rehabilitated. on the other hand, what is he being taught at home, not math appearently.
He was skating in a ice hockey formation that goes straight, right, left, and his skates left an impression that looked like a swastica.
Yeah those “stupid” “pranks” is reminicent of another time in our bloody history, not so long ago, though
