The cartoon in Wednesday’s Post by Sean Delonas shows a dead chimp and two police officers, one with a smoking gun.
The caption reads, “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.”
The cartoon refers to Travis the chimp, who was shot to death by police in Stamford, Conn., on Monday after it mauled a friend of its owner.
It links the chimp to Obama, who signed his administration’s economic stimulus plan on Tuesday.
Sharpton called the cartoon offensive and divisive.
The Post had no immediate comment.
Does anyone remember the comment, “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig”. Did Sharpton protest?
Sharpton is what you get when a person dosen’t have a job. Drive the hard working people crazy. Where was sharpy when the Post had cartoons about Bush? Oh. Sharpy is a rascist also.

They probably should have shown a higher level of sensitivity to comparing the first black president to a monkey…this was not meant to be disrepectful but whomever reviewed it should have shown some awareness of how it would be treated. An apology is in order.
Does anyone realize that Obama did not write the stimulus bill? Nancy Pelosi did. I don’t think Obama could have done such a bad job if he tried.

It does not depict Obama, it is talking about the chimps that wrote the bill, IE congress, last I checked there were not too many blacks there. This guy needs to find a job.
Lenayas Deiti, the cartoon’s point was to poke fun at a stimulus bill that was thought to help is really an albatross. The analogy is to the cute little monkey that hurt people. Nancy Pelosi thinks she is helping and really just pushing her socialist agenda. It is not about Obama, he does not write bills. Even during his term in the senate he did not write bills. He was busy preparing his run for the presidency.
Rev Al, you are a total fool. First read Article I of the Constitution and then you will see there is no reference to Obama. Obama’s duties are defined in Article II.

He can’t see past black and white. That’s his livelihood. Just because the chimp is black does not mean they are referencing Obama. Contrarily, he did not write the bill, he deligated that mess to Pelosi and her ilk.

The president DOESN’T WRITE BILLS, he can suggest policy direction but he only SIGNS bills.
It is clear as day this was referring to congress which would be the group that writes these things.
Agav, I am seeing a lot more racism lately, the more Obama shows how far left he really is. I think so far his being president has pushed people’s feelings toward blacks back about 20 years.
For eight years all the lefties have been calling Bush a chimp, and I never heard of ONE Democrat who protested; not Sharpton, not Pelosi, not Clinton, nobody. Now that Obama’s president it’s suddenly not OK to call him one?

The cartoon creates lot of speculations and criticism. Much more it is not the stimulus bill which is criticized but the picture depicting obama as a chimpanzee. this could mean an awakening to racial discrimination.
The dead Chimp is Obama, the dead Chimp/Obama is assasinated. The New York Post and cartoonist seems to be suggesting that an assisinated President Obama is a funny joke. Perhaps what they are really saying is …hint hint it will also be funny if it really happens. If Obama is Shot and killed tommorrow I would hold the New York Post as an accessory to the enticement to the murder of the President of the United States. Whoever approved this cartoon needs to be fired.

So I wake up this morning and have this image in my mind of two cops with smoking barrels standing over a freshly offed chimp and one of them says to the other, “The New York Post is gonna hafta find someone else to write their political cartoons.”
