The photo, for Runner’s World magazine, led some to suggest the governor could be demeaning his office, but Paterson insisted he was OK with it “because it helps promote the importance of exercise and an active and healthy lifestyle.”

Paterson, 54, talked in the article about his late-blooming interest in jogging and marathon racing, and his membership in the Achilles Track Club, which encourages people with disabilities to engage in athletic pursuits.

The governor, who is legally blind, spoke further about his running experiences during an interview on Albany’s Talk 1300-AM, where he related his difficulty in finishing Utica’s 9.3 mile Boilermaker run last summer.

“I got to the six-mile point and I thought, to be perfectly honest to myself, I can’t finish this race,” he said.

“I started to get out and then I thought if I leave this race in the sixth mile in what was a 9.3-mile race, twice as much would be written about me than if I stayed in and absorbed it. So I stayed in.”

The governor , who took office last March after Eliot Spitzer resigned amid a high-priced hooker scandal, said he had no immediate plans to enter another race – except his own race for election next year.

It falls in the same category as President Obama in the oval office without his suit on…. that’s 2009

Or President Clinton with his boxers or briefs answer, also his suggestive pose that emphasized his milah.

Who cares already… fix the economy. I don’t care of you wear a suit or jogging shorts.

    Leave him alone already!
He actually has the health conscious mindset of a runner and sees nothing wrong with this. Halevi our Rabbonim would come out and endorse exercise.
PS: proper exercise and diet would greatly lessen the health care budget.

I agree with number 2. As for No. 4, yes his shorts may be out of style, but why spend money on new clothes if the old ones are still usable. We are talking about excercise clothing, not what he is wearing to deliver the state of the state address.

Interesting that people are complaining about this demeaning his office. What about the admissions he and wife made just after he became Governor about their ‘affairs’? It just shows that you are dealing with a person who is severely challenged in the area of morality. It has also been reported recently that his word is worth little, telling people what they want to hear (evidently even more than a typical politician).

A paragon of morality he definitely is not, why do you think he rushed to try to push NYS into recognizing toeivah ‘marriage’ early in his his term?

People should wake up and stop fawning over him. While it’s true that the very bad economic situation are a big factor in his very low approval ratings in the polls, it is not just that.

He wasn’t voted in he was appointed because of the law. I don’t like the way Dov Hikind flatters him and chanfes him. It won’t help the yidden any way. Hopefully they will out vote him in the next election. Including mayor Blumberg
