New York – Ever cranked out an email in a fit of rage, only to regret it later? Hit ‘reply all’ when you only meant to hit ‘reply’? Sent an email to a VIP only to realize seconds later that you didn’t attach the file?

These and myriad other email ‘situations’ can be extradinarily unpleasant. But for Gmail users, many of them can now be a thing of the past.
So those of you who tend to get yourselves into unpleasant email ‘situations’ every now and then, take note: Gmail has launched an ‘undo send’ feature.
But there’s a catch – you only get five seconds to hit ‘undo send.’ After that time window, well, you’re on your own.
To enable this feature, Turn on ‘Undo Send’ option in ‘Gmail Labs’ under ‘Settings.’
But many Google users have lamented that 5 seconds is not enough to realize they’ve screwed up and made that terrible mistake, so now the Internet behemoth plans to give them more time to say “Oops!”
“That’s probably the Number 1 piece of feedback we’ve seen,” Gmail product manager Keith Coleman told the NY Post.
“A 10-second option will soon be added, and we may also allow for even longer delays.”
“Undo send” has already been proven to be among the most popular, Coleman said.
“Anything that helps users save them from themselves has been extremely popular,” Coleman said.

An idea would be, as long as the receiver does not open his/her email, than you can retract the email.
One problem: The feature doesn’t work!
They have a lot of interesting features in that part of gmail. I signed up for a few of them.
I used it as a test the other day and it worked GREAT! Wonderful!
Careful: As of now this feature may cause more trouble. Previously prior to sending one tended to think or double check. With this feature one may fool themselves quicker by believing they can Undo Send and all you get is an average 3 seconds when it does works.
For the past few days you get about 0.5 seconds or less to retract. In short, as of now it doesn’t work.
