Washington – Mayor Michael Bloomberg is endorsing President Obama’s health care plan. He says the nation’s mayors deserve a seat at the table in shaping the legislation.

The Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent spoke to the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington on Tuesday.
Bloomberg said the nation’s broken health care system must be fixed. He says that’s especially true as more Americans lose their jobs and health care coverage. And he adds that inaction will only delay the nation’s economic recovery.
Bloomberg is running for re-election this year.
What will be with all the insurance companies and all the brokers????????????????????????

Another power grab by the mayor and president – meanwhile socialized medicine does not work in any country where it is currently in effect.
And if you need proof Medicare/Medicaid which is socialized medicine is broke in NY.
The current crisis was created by Ted Kennedy with the creation of HMOs and the elimination of real competition by government regulation.
sad thing is that bloomie has more experience running a co than obamanation yet obamanation is running Govt Motors Corporation as well as running the country into der erd.

There is a LOT of misinformation out there about Obama’s health care plan (thanks to too many liars on the radio).
Obama’s plan is not a socialized system. You still choose your insurance company, your plan, your own everything. The only difference will be that there will be very inexpensive plans negotiated by the government with private companies. The government will subsidize everyone’s insurance and in some cases (based on need) will outright pay for it.
The government is only taking on the responsibility for FUNDING the healthcare plans, not running it (like in Canada and the UK). If you get it from your employer today, essentially nothing will change, other than you will have more choice of plans at different prices.
Medicare and Medicaid is broken because it was set up as an entitlement that has become grossly abused and will be eliminated by this new plan. Most of the medicaid/medicare problems are the result of ridiculous fraud.
