Washington – Government health officials are mobilizing to launch a massive swine flu vaccination campaign this fall that is unprecedented in its scope — and in the potential for complications.

According to the Washington Post The campaign aims to vaccinate at least half the country’s population within months. Although more people have been inoculated against diseases such as smallpox and polio over a period of years, the United States has never tried to immunize so many so quickly.
To prepare, more than 2,800 local health departments have begun recruiting pediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics and even dentists, along with a small army of volunteers from churches and other groups. They are devising strategies to reach children, teenagers, pregnant women and young and middle-aged adults in inner cities, suburban enclaves and the countryside.
“This is potentially the largest mass-vaccination program in human history,” said Howard Markel, a professor of medical history at the University of Michigan who is advising the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as it spearheads the effort.
For a moment I thought it said the “largest vacation program in history”…thinking they were trying to stimulate the economy…too bad.
And this vaccine has not been tested very long at all. That’s very worrisome and dangerous.
Its called senators and congressmen talking money from drug company lobbyist to line the pockets with $$$$$ every time you take a “flu shot”, the same way dick Chaney pocketed money from contracts given to his company – haliburton during the Iraq war….welcome to the land of opportunity…this swine flu could have been stopped coming in from mexico…but the drug companies would make any $$$$ now, would they ??????
Israel is not immunizing because the vaccine is not out. The Israeli government has allocated money to buy 7 million doses when the vaccine comes out. This vaccine is not different than any other flu vaccine which never stays the same and they come out with new strain vaccines seasonally. I don’t know why people are afraid of this vaccine which will be no different than some other strain of flu.
here is a cheaper solution, without risking long term side effects of an relatively unknown vaccine. If you get sick with te flu seer your doctor.

Please NOTE: As of August 1, 2009, no long-term, independent safety trial studies have been done for any of the different and new flu vaccines that are supposed to be given/forced on all Americans whether we want them or not. , After the World Health Organization [WHO] declared a Level 6 “pandemic” on June 11, the US government has mandated that all Americans over the age of six months be vaccinated. Although WHO cannot technically interfere with the internal laws of the US, they can and already have put enormous pressure on our government (and, thereby, our own laws) to require all citizens to get these toxic vaccine shots. There are to be no exceptions to this new illegal US ruling. Further, WHO is not even tracking the actual number of laboratory confirmed cases of H1N1. So, how can it be called a “pandemic”? This year’s flu is mild.
There has been a tremendous rush (called “fast-tracked”) to get these vaccines on the market. The tests they have done were only a few days to a few weeks long. This is totally insufficient time to determine any realistic, long-term, and potentially hazardous immune responses. Nothing has been done in any responsible manner. There is absolutely no Precautionary Principle (first do no harm) in place. What we have, first and foremost, are both out-of-control greed and scare tactics. These are directed to uninformed citizens, while the international pharmaceutical companies will make billions of dollars, with the very real potential of enormous harm to millions of victims is looming ever closer.
We all are their experimental lab rats. There is no concern about harming or killing anyone, because the companies (GlaxoSmithKline, Baxter, and Novartis, and others) have been indemnified by the government, so that there is absolutely no recourse for any deaths or injuries these vaccines may cause. Why would they do that, if these vaccines were safe? What secret and criminal plans were done behind closed doors to hatch this real X-Files plot? True Ott, and Canadian doctor Ghislaine Lanctôt (author of “Medica Mafia”), it appears that there is collusion between officials in the US government, WHO/UN, and the pharmaceutical corporations.(1)
In a call yesterday to a friend who is a doctor in California, she told me ominously: “60% of Americans could die from these vaccines.” Is this what lies ahead for us in the next few months? 12,000 children ages 3-12, will be guinea pigs for these flu vaccines. It is unethical and unconscionable. To possibly rig the results, the children will be getting injections of different vaccines than will be delivered to the rest of the population this Fall. Is this the cesspool that is hijacking our country? Do we all go lost in our daily routines, refusing to wake to the grave consequences that face us!– merrily down a path leading to such Orwellian destruction?
Nah, you don’t need a degree to “research” an important topic like this. How will you conduct your research? will you read a book by a nutcase or listen to a “doctor friend” who thinks that a vaccine will kill a large percentage of the population? Of course, nobody tells you how that anonymous doctor reached that conclusion–on the basis of which research, and who reviewed it.
So how will you conduct your research? Will you analyze the genome of the influenza virus? Will you conduct safety stduies? Will you access peer-reviewed publications on Medline? How will you evaluate those publications? How much expertise do you have, and how much time do you have?
when you have a question about a halachic problem, how much research do you do, before you ask a Rav–who has put in the time and gained the expertise to study the sources and answer the question? Or do you listen to an “environmental activist” with little to no background in the subject matter at hand?

I’m a scientist who has had 68 articles published or in press in peer-reviewed journals. The process is not perfect, but it is a generally good and fair process. The facts are that the idea that vaccines cause autism has been completely debunked in study after study, and the authors of the original (poorly designed) study that reported an association are under investigation for scientific misconduct.
There is no vaccine being given in the United States today for which the side effects of the vaccine are sufficiently common or severe that one should not vaccinate. Flu vaccines have been given every year in the United States to persons at high risk and there have not been serious problems.
