Butner, NC – Bernie Madoff had little to lose by confessing to masterminding the world’s biggest Ponzi scheme — he’s dying of cancer.

Madoff, who is serving 150 years at a North Carolina federal lockup after pleading guilty to swindling more than $65 billion, has been telling fellow inmates he does not have much longer to live.
“He’s been taking about 20 pills a day for his cancer,” said one inmate.
“He talks about it all the time. He’s not doing very well.”
There’s been much speculation as to why Madoff took the entire fall for the scheme — and rumors of his suffering from pancreatic cancer surfaced many months before he arrived at the Butner, NC, complex in June.
The prisoners did not confirm that’s the form of cancer he’s suffering.
His lawyer did not return messages yesterday but, when previously asked by The Post, would neither confirm nor deny his client has cancer. A lawyer for his wife, Ruth, also did not return messages.
Meanwhile, a bare-chested Bernie has been killing time at the prison participating in Native American religious purification ceremonies held at an on-grounds “sweat lodge,” other sources said.
He accepted invitations from Native American inmates to join them at their weekly prayer services. The ceremonies involve praying, using heated rocks to induce sweat and smoking from a ceremonial pipe.
It is unclear whether the 71-year-old Madoff checked out the ceremony because of health reasons. For centuries, Native Americans have used sweat lodges to help detoxify the body mentally, spiritually and physically.

I think that he is just trying to get people to have rachmanus on him. He is just probaly bored out of his mind, and he is just doing this for attention. Or maybe, he’s just really not well. Maybe we should all take up upon a public fast day to fast for his health. All kidding aside, I don’t really know. Only hashem knows. Either way, if his health, isn’t going down, then his lack of people trusting him is going down.

With madoffs billions in SWISS ban accounts he can pay any oncologist or several of them a few million (small change for madoff) to write and oncology report that he is “almost dead” so he can get out or get extra leniant privilages

What Bernie did was dis-spicable, pure and simple. However, remember, he wasn’t alone. Someone had to have just as much greed, and a blck heart to think they could make so much more in interestwithour qusestioning anything.

I only wish Bernie rachmonis, and still feel he is getting his just desserts.
Why should Bernie be let out.? Do the crime do the time. Why should he get special treatment? His victims have suffered greatly because of his misdeeds. Many people have died in prison. I guess Bernie will not be an exception the to the rule.
As to the ‘report’ that he has cancer, my comment is Oh gee…..as to the truth to the report, they are saying on all the news casts that he does not have cancer. Either way, i am certain that this disgrace to humanity and specifically to the Jews of this world, will get excellent care in prison where he belongs prior to being buried from whatever causes his demise.
