Williamsburg, NY – The Brooklyn dog owner who allegedly got into a shouting match with the NYPD’s first Hasidic police officer turned down a plea deal that would have ended the case with no jail, fines or punishment.

Blogger Chrissie Brodigan told a judicial-hearing officer that she wasn’t interested in his offer of an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal — a promise to dismiss the whole case as long as she stayed out of trouble for six months.
Her lawyer, Jonathon Warner, would not say why his client turned down the deal.
Brodigan was cited by Officer Joel Witriol June 28 at a Williamsburg subway station for carrying her pet pug outside a bag.
she wants to sue the city for 10million, they will settle for 250k, yet another winner in our system that has no tort reform
Obviously, she’s doesn’t want to stay out of trouble for the next 6 months…
Why is it okay for a male hassidic dude to be a police officer and touch women, and not for a female hassidc police woman (see previous VIN story) to touch males (as per the VIN commentators)? Why is there a double standard? Why don’t ‘jews’ have better things to think & worry about like kidnapping kids & corruption & abuse problems?

the only problem with touching is if it is a friendly gesture. putting handcuffs on a woman is definitely not friendly. many rabbonim even give a heter to shake hands for business purposes.
she’d be foolish to settle . In the court of public opinion he has already been tried and convicted, and she gets her 15 minutes of fame! For her it’s a win-win situation
