The Department of Buildings says it is equipping its inspectors’ mobile phones with GPS systems so that they can be followed in real time.
Last year, a city inspector was indicted on criminal charges of tampering with public records. Authorities say he had reported inspecting a construction crane that he had not examined. Days later, it collapsed and killed seven people.
The Buildings Department says it will begin tracking inspectors Monday. By the end of September, all 379 inspectors will be monitored.
You mean they will have to be on site to take bribes?

Real time tracking of building inspectors, but still, to this date, no GPS of poliec cars. Now why is that?
