Sullivan County, NY – A Monticello man has been charged after admitting to squatting in a seasonal bungalow on Hillside Avenue and damaging the property.

Police say the bungalow’s owner checked the home and found it burglarized. Investigators found clothing and mail belonging to Lloyd Holness, 51, and picked him up on Pleasant Street on Saturday, where he admitted to staying at the bungalow.

I think its time a few bungallow (sorry summer homes) owners should get together and hire a private security company to drive by every few hours and check out for burgulars and squatters..The cost will off set the losses that get lost every year..

all you need is a live web-cam at the colony with hidden cams set up in diff locations inside and out you can always log on n look around
I think most palces have a caretaker living on or next to the colony,

These squalid bungalow colonies are slums and not fit for people even in the summer, so its hard to see how any normal person would want to live there or “squat” in the winter. This guy must be sick and will probably be found not capable of standing trial.
Without a doubt a criminal act…but just imagine how cold the inside of a non isulated and heated bungalow must be in the cold months…putting him in a warm jail will improve his quality of life. Owners..put up web cams as #4 has said.. this will work to keep an eye on the un-invited.
