“When Americans are suffering economically and millions need jobs, it’s shocking that the Administration is focused on its ultra-liberal militantly homosexualist agenda forcing the highlighting of homosexuals and homosexuality on an unwilling military. This is the equivalent of the spiritual rape of our military to satisfy the most extreme and selfish cadre of President Obama’s kooky coalition.
We agree with Eileen Donnelly of the Center for Military Readiness that this will hurt the cohesiveness of the military, cause many to leave the army, and dramatically lower the number of recruits, perhaps leading to the reinstatement of a compulsory draft.

“Thirteen months before 9/11, on the day New York City passed homosexual domestic partnership regulations, I joined a group of Rabbis at a City Hall prayer service, pleading with G-d not to visit disaster on the city of N.Y. We have seen the underground earthquake, tsunami, Katrina, and now Haiti. All this is in sync with a two thousand year old teaching in the Talmud that the practice of homosexuality is a spiritual cause of earthquakes. Once a disaster is unleashed, innocents are also victims just like in Chernobyl.

“We plead with saner heads in Congress and the Pentagon to stop sodomization of our military and our society. Enough is enough.”

I’m sorry, but I don’t think such ‘statements’ are acting k’halacha. Why should we care which goyim are in the military? Why must we embarrass Orthodoxy?

He’s 100 percent right, the rambam specifically says anyone who doesn’t link a tragedy to because there are tzaros is an apikorus. Yes, we don’t know what the exact cause is, but we do know its because of our sins, and that’s the Torah way of looking at things

Anytime a member of the clergy purports to know the cause of tragedies and natural disasters they make me cringe. Why do none of them ever opine that tragedies are caused by lack of sufficient tzedaka? sexual or physical abuse of children? spousal abuse?

The point is that it would be an earthquake in every Unit. I cannot imagine showering in public with a known homo looking at me. It would cause the Unit to do very bad things. Wake up people. This is the insanity of Obama and Democrat Party Socialists. They want to destroy the US Army now. The US School System’s destruction isn’t enough for them. Disgusting.

The IDF has had gays serving for decades and so far there have been no major earthquakes in Eretz Yisrael since the founding of the Medinah — in an area that HaShem designed to be easy for Him to create an earthquake. Most of America’s NATO allies have gays serving in the military but there have been no major earthquakes in western Europe.

This excuse for a Rav is really a seriously demented yid and his blathering is regarded the same way the goyim treat Pat Roberston who blamed Katrina and the earthquake in Hati on gays. Hashem yarachem on anyone who has to deal with him.

Does anyone care what this sorry excuse for a human says? Is it any wonder that there is a multitude of Anti – Semitism? Why should anyone like jews if they are a loathing people, intolerant of others? This animal is a weirdo, and should not be given any air time. Is he a part of the 33 concert ban fiasco as well? It is time to literally pull the plug on this pig!

Oy, Rabbi Levin we need heilige people like YOU joining the military, and send all those other heilige big mouths who talk talk talk but don’t do anything else. We’ll have enough to fill the military needs and then you won’t have to worry about the evil homosexuals who are willing to put their life on the line for their country.

The Torah also calls eating shellfish a toevah and cheating in business a toevah. but this “Rabbi” can only focus on gays? What about all the other aveiros. is he greater than the chofetz chaim who refused to attribute a particular sin to the great earthquake in japan? The chofetz chaim simply said “WE need to do teshuva”.

I am inspired by Rabbi Levin. As a jew with homosexual tendencies, I was always thinking of possibly joining the military. Thanks to Rabbi Levin’s pearls of wisdom – I will now rather sit home. There will now be no more earthquakes. Thanks Rabbi for preventing another pending disaster.

I’m very impressed that a man living among us in America has such insight and understanding of why Hashem causes calamities. I wasn’t aware that there were any living rabonim of such stature in America. Does he head a large Yeshiva or Shule? I’m sure the military and all branches of government could benefit from this holy man’s insight and wisdom.

And I am telling you that earthquakes is a direct result of Plate tectonics and it take years of movements before any volcanic eruption or earthquake, so here come someone who calls himself rabbi, and he is ready to reinvent the wheel, that he finally figured it all out, that because some gay solders might be ready to die for our country, the plates will all of sudden move and the result would be a catastrophic earthquake and what is more funny that we have people here in this site who are even willing to debate this moron.

A well known Gadol said the reason for the earthquakes in Haiti was due to the Rabbonim’s silence on Tropper.

Let me get this straight, Rabbi, because you sure have been quiet when we needed to hear your opinion about relative issues that affect your olam, not the military, of which I wonder if it’s politically correct in your shul to include a tefilla for their well being.
Is this what you meant about the Tropper scandal? “..this is the equivalent of a spiritual rape of our military [olam] to satisfy the most extreme and selfish cadre of Pres. Obama’s [Leib Tropper and his] kooky coalition” ?
    You make more sense now…
his vile act, of which you and those rabbis you met prior to 9/11 should have reconvened a few weeks ago, can “…cause many to leave the army [of Gd] and dramatically lower the number of recruits…” you get the gist.
Do us all a favor, Rabbi, and stand up for what makes the yiddishe world quake- sinas chinam. That, my friend, is the real earthquakes’ evil twin.

Rabbi Levin is a breath of fresh air. He was speaking to an audiance of
Thank you Rabbi Levin !!! You’re a breath of fresh air. Rabbi Levin was speaking to crowd of 300,000 G-d fearing Christians who have the sense to seek the right way to live. If we can have a president of the United States that can talk about gays and invite them into our military, we can hve a rabbi speak about its evils. If you were a soldier, would you want a gay as your fox hole buddy? or training partner? Would you elect to have a gay person as your back up?
We are lucky to have a Rabbi speak up for Torah values. Not one word that he said is not found in Chazal. He specifcally qoutes, chapter and verse, from Chazal. It is our defieciency that we don’t listen to him and carefully note what he is saying. If 300,000 gentiles can learn from him, I’m sure that we can also benefit from his important words.

If gays caused earthquakes, New York and Miami would have been wiped out years ago. This is silliness at the highest level. Go work on yourself and your own faults before attacking anyone else. Maybe a lack of midos, and a lack of respect for people willing to lay their life down to defend you is what brings earthquakes.

Gays have always served in the military. They used to lie to get in. They they could get in, so long as they never told anyone. This law is designed to protect the 40,000 quality soldiers who were or are being kicked out because someone found out. It is ridiculous. We are at WAR with violent terrorists and we need all the hands we can get to fight.

Once they return from fighting, THEN why not befriend someone who is giving in to his taivos for homosexuality and help him. It is far better than the embarrassment you’ve created here.

Whether or not homosexuality is a crime, I think most intelligent folks recognize that don’t ask don’t tell is an imature way to deal with a serious problem. Now, regarding Levin’s comment, don’t you think it takes a certain level of spiritual disease to marginalize the death of over 100,000 human beings just to push your pet agenda?!

Its easy to claim something that no one can disprove – as we can see, plenty of people are claiming all kinds of things for the reasons for the quakes in Haiti.

As mentioned here, it seems like Rabbi Levin has an obsession with gays for some reason. Why doesn’t he use his time and effort to combat molestation and gay people who claim to be frum.

Whilst in the past I have agreed with the good Rabbi, I have to say on this I think he’s a lunatic. Gays = earthquakes? Is he serious???

My GAY cousin fought valiantly in the IDF. He is an expert marksman & sniper, amongst his other talents & thanks to him, Jewish lives have been saved. I am far from advocating homosexuality, but this nutcase bigot is dangerous…more dangerous I believe than having gays in the military. Somehow, I don’t see my cousin being responsible for Haiti’s earthquake. Or the Tsunami. Or Katrina. Or the Titanic.

How about banning gays from attending Yeshivas first? Or the teaching staff? Unfortunately we are living in a generation that is riddled with “mushchussim” and as a community we sweep it all under the rug. We should fix our own internal problems before we start correcting the problems by the goyim. KeShoit atzmecha veAchar Kach Kshat Acheirim!

It is a Shande and a Charpe that a self appointed so called Rabbi is the spokesman of Klal Yisroel when it comes to these sensative issues ! First of all how does he have the right to say what causes eathquakes , Hashem does things that we do not understand and do not have to understand a Gzeira from Hashem does not have to have any reason
Ian a Chasidish guy from BP and I do not care and why should I care who serves in the military , a gay person is a creation of Hashem and has to have all the rights that other people have , why discriminate ? Do we discriminate against those that eat Chazer or dance with Shikses ? Of course not , if he is a Yid then we must be mispallel that they do teshiva and if he is not a Yid then who cares !!! Hashem created all people equally and we should treat them equally too !!!!

Well fasten your seatbelts the earthquakes are coming.

WASHINGTON — The military’s top uniformed officer on Tuesday made an impassioned plea for allowing gays to serve openly in uniform, telling a Senate panel it was a matter of integrity and that it is wrong to force people to “lie about who they are in order to defend their fellow citizens.”

The comments by Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, set the stage for the Defense Department’s yearlong study into how the ban can be repealed without causing a major upheaval in the military.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates, appearing with Mullen before the Armed Services Committee, announced plans to loosen enforcement rules involving the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that has been in effect since 1993.
