Irvine, CA – Eleven students have been arrested during a raucous lecture at University of California, Irvine, where Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren spoke about U.S.-Israel relations.

Oren’s speech to about 500 people was interrupted by shouting and protests multiple times Monday night.
UC Irvine spokesman Tom Vasich says nine Irvine students and two students from UC Riverside were arrested for disturbing a public event. All were cited and released.
The Orange County Register reports that at one point, Oren stopped, asked for hospitality and resumed his speech, but the shouts continued.
Political science professor Mark Petracca says he was embarrassed by the outbursts.
Earlier, the UCI Muslim Student Union issued an email condemning Oren’s appearance on campus. It was not clear if the arrested students were members of the group.

I thought Liberals were tolerant of foreigners and people of minority religions. I thought Liberals were tolerant of other people’s culture. I though Liberals don’t offend people of other countries.

Today, the worst anti-semitism anywhere is growing on the University campuses,
once the bastion of intellectualism, now it’s a festering breeding ground for anti-semites, and it’s getting worse. Even most professors are inculcating the students with propaganda against Israel. It’s a most dangerous situation.
oy lanu — how many of these half-baked Islamist students are on scholarship? Hostility is uncivilized! This WAS an organized effort to prevent free speech. The strong response of the professor is admirable, and should be a model for future aggressive demonstrations of Islamist garbage. Disagreement can be voiced in pointed questions at THE END of a speaker’s presentation. These students should be expelled for antisocial behavior — and all antisocial behavior met with zero tolerance henceforth. Otherwise this WILL be “London…Teheran…”

But think about it. Do you think Americans love to see angry, screaming Arabs?
When an American woman puts her children on a plane to go see her ex-husband, do you think she is thinking about Gaza, or “International law”?
She is worried about some “Freedom fighter” with exploding underwear.
Let them scream and protest all they want. Tell them to wear hijabs and keffiyahs. Americans just love that.
good luck to whoever this moslem student group gets to speak. i can see a counter protest coming and it won’t be pretty. the way they acted was counterproductive. the only people who think they won is themselves, they didn’t because whoever attended the speech had their minds set that they hate or love israel and these characters weren’t going to change any minds, and this little incident will come back to bite them, they acted foolishly and will have to pay.
Throw ’em all the **** out of school for disorderly conduct. They have a right to learn so long as they don’t disrupt education –
