Washington – Free the gefilte fish! Just in time for Passover, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will try to resolve a trade dispute holding up a huge shipment of American-caught fish destined for seder dinners in Israel.

Clinton drew chuckles from a congressional panel when she said that getting nine containers of Asian Carp filets from an Illinois fishery to a processing plant in Israel in time for the Jewish holiday “sounds to me like one of those issues that should rise to the highest levels of our government.”
She made the pledge Thursday to Rep. Don Manzullo, R-Ill. Manzullo said Israel slapped a 120-percent import duty on the fish, and he asked for help before the first seder on March 29.
“I will take that mission on,” she said.
120% duty? Something smells fishy here!

My wife uses whitefish, sometimes adding a little trout, to make gefilte fish.
I suggest bringing these crates of carp to Washington, DC, locate them in a prominate place, one of the plazas, and leave them it throughout the hot, teamy Washington summers.
Toward the time of the Yom HaNariem, the smell will possibly overcome the current administration’s repulsive odor. Too bad the wasn’t available during Mrs. Clinton’s husband’s administration, to overcome their smelly events. Maybe some of the carp could have been stuffed in an alcove of the Oval Office.
Finally, watch the spelling of this genre of fish. In Washington, be careful not to mix the two middle letters of the fish called carp. Although, with the current administration, this would be appropos.

If you notice all the fish problems we have had lately, the Israeli 120% tax, the US getting involved, the Killer Whale, Killing, and the new parasites in the fish threatening our primary fish supply, you can’t help realizing that this is to get us focused in forgetting about eating all the fish we are used to eating and instead:

This is a total waste of time and political chits. There is ZERO reason why they need carp to make gefilte fish sicne they have so many other types of fish readily available in EY that are healthier and fresher. I hope this is a Purim joke but if not, the joke is really on those yidden in EY who will end up eating this old and frozen dreche of bottom feeding fish at their sedorim.
Its time to abandon the minhag of using carp in gefilte fish or even eating fish. it would be much better to eat freshly broiled fish without all the other stuff added in. And its even worse among Ungarishe yidden who add som much unhealthy sugar that its almost like they add the fish into the sugar as an afterthought.
She has too much time on her hands.

Where does Mrs Clinton get time to worry about fish?
She is so busy condemming Israel for trying to protect our holy places, such as Chevron, Bais Lechem. Our Israeli government should have the courage, and the faith, to proudly announce to the world; our “friends” as well as others, that these places, and others, are ours! G-d gave them to us Jews!
Of course, with friends like Mrs. Clinton, and many others of her ilk, we really don’t need any enemies.
