At least, that’s what the voice mail message says at the law office where she just took a leave of absence.
“You have reached Elizabeth Holtzman at Herrick Feinstein. Ms. Holtzman is currently on a leave of absence from Herrick to pursue the Democratic nomination for attorney general for the state of New York.”
Holtzman who is Jewish has an impressive resume and, according to a poll she commissioned, pretty good name recognition. The field is crowded and she hasn’t been an active agent in politics for a number of years. But if she can raise the money in time, she could be a leading candidate.

She was a rather incompetent Kings County District Attorney, she would do a worse job as State Attorney General.

When she was DA and Mondrowitz, the serial rapist of frum boys ran to Israel she was immediately on the case to get him extradited. Unfortunately the treaty at the time did not make it possible. Hynes dithered away 20 years and the Israeli Supreme Court ruled that he could not be extradited because of that. So, I would like a DA who takes the blood of Jewish children seriously.

I remember that as Congresswoman from Brooklyn, she was instrumental in keeping the Navy Resale System Office headquarters to stay in Bush Terminal in Brooklyn. As a result, hundreds of jobs were saved. Original plans called for NAVRESO to move to Illinois.
