There was one smart yet to be born child waving at the doctors – look there is something wrong.
On Sunday, mom to be Hindi Gross was undergoing a routine sonogram at the Sheba hospital in central Israel, a day before her pre-planned C-section.
She felt good, there were no indications of any problem, but when the doctor looked at the sonogram screen he was very surprised.
“I saw something floating in the amniotic fluid and the baby grabbed and waved it, as if trying to tell us – take a look at that, something is wrong. I have seen blood clots in the uterus before but I have never seen a baby grabbing it and waving it like that”, Dr. Yinon Gilboa, obstetrics and gynecology specialist, told Fox.
The doctor soon realized that the baby was holding a 2.75 inch blood clot and the mother was rushed to the OR.
The little baby girl was delivered safely and is now 4 days old. She does not have a name yet but she is already known through out Israel as the little heroine who miraculously saved her mother’s life.

Finally, a story we can smile about! Thanks, VIN.
I don’t know about magical miracles in this story, but thank God we have advanced sonograms and well trained doctors who know what they’re are doing. If this woman would be in a 3rd world country, her baby could have waived all she wanted and the doctors would still not have a clue to any problems.
They should name the baby Geula.
Every baby is a miracle.
Can somene please explain a bit the nture of blood cots in the uterus. How do the occur? and what is done to it when it happens? Tnx.
to #18 , your question is a good one, as the story did leave out some important info that was in other news reports. Speaking as a childbirth educator, I will explain. The problem with a blood clot is that means there was bleeding from somewhere….there should NOT be clots floating in the amniotic fluid. Logically, the clot most likely is from the placenta, the baby’s life support system. Seeing a clot floating in the fluid indicates that the placenta has torn and is prematurely peeling away from its attachment to the uterine wall. This is problematic as the placenta, the baby’s life support system, is compromised. Undetected and uncontrolled bleeding can be life threatening to the mom as well, lo aleinu. The fact that this particular clot was so large indicates a very serious problem, B”H chasdei Hashem, this was detected and appropriate medical intervention was used for a safe outcome for all involved.
