Shteinman, who is on a brief world tour, arrived by car this morning to speak at the Bais Medrash Govoha Yeshiva in Lakewood, before he moved to the Little League field where thousands waited to hear his inspirational speech.

Shteinman was in Monsey, N.Y. Tuesday and has already visited Mexico and Panama on his recent world tour.

”He is our leader. Even our rabbis rely on him for guidance,’’ explained Judah Abramsky, 27, of Lakewood, who came to listen to the man described as the Grand or Great Rabbi of the Orthodox Jewish community.

This was the fourth visit by Shteinman in the past ten years, according to Abramsky.

Officials said about 5,000 people were in attendance at the Little League field.

Is it true that the R”Y refrains from doing a Melochoh on Friday afternoon as soon as it becomes Shabbos in israel?

They say that he could not find any Heter, in Bavli or Yerushalma, to do a Melochoh when it is already the Zman in E”Y. And that is where Hashem resides and keeps His Shabbos.

You have some issues, I see. Hashem does not work nor rest. These are written for anthropomorphic reasons….so that we can understand….We cannot comprehend anything about hashem…we are not capable….Anyone who disagrees, basically, is yeshiva challanged…..sorry to bust your baloon.

While many Litvashe yidden would agree that Shteinman is a chashuve rav, he is not regarded as “gadol hador”, especially among most chassisdus. Why is everyone’s favorite rav automatically given the title of “gadol hador”. There can be only ONE gadol hador during any generation and its clearly not Rav Shteinman.

To No.2. You quote reb shteinman as saying that the because the ebeshter “resides in EY” than the zman for everyone for shabbs (and presumably all other zmaninm) must be Israeli standard time no matter where on earth one happens to be located. If he actually made such a naresh comment, which I doubt, everyone in Lakewood would be davening shachris at 10 PM and eating shalosh saudos at 9:00 shabbos morning. Hopefully, Shteinman never made the statement you attribute to him but if he did, he has bigger problems than you might think.

#2 if the fact is true who says your reason is the R”Y reason maybe that’s his way of being mekushar to e”y or other reason
    #9 “AM HAARETZ”
#16 who says only one gadol hador gemora says many times “vechol gedolei hador”

HKB”H does keep Shabbos, as the Medrash says, that a Min asked R Akiva how is HKB”H allowed to cause rain on Shabbos. He also rested from Maasei Breishis when it became Shabbos. Presumably, He uses the Time-Zone of E”Y.

Where in Chazal is there any M’kor, that we in the U.S., can use our own Time-Zone?
How can we eat, Erev Yom Kippur, when it’s already Yom Kippur for HKB”H?

    Reply to #23 :

If this Rav Sheteinman is the “gadol hador” as some here would suggest we beleive and he says every mitzvah must be mekayem based on the time in EY, that means millions of yidden in the U.S. are being mechalel shabbos and yom tov every week. That was the point of post no. 17; either Shteinman was misquoted or his comment doesn’t warrant serious consideration since I doubt we are all being mechallel shabbos every shabbos.

If only you can point to, at least one place in Shaas (Bavli or Yerushalmi), or somwhere in Medrash, which would indicate that we don’t have to follow the Time-Zone of E”Y.
Regarding the yearly Seasons, for the purpose of Yomim Tovim, we do follow E”Y even if one lives below the Equator.

If anybody knows anything, Please respond.
