A spokeswoman for Mayor Mike Bloomberg told TechNewsDaily that the city will be paying respect tonight to the nearly 3,000 people who were killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
The tribute lights, which cast twin beams upward from where the World Trade Center towers stood before the attacks, are lit on Sept. 11 each year.
The news comes on the heels of the announcement that bin Laden was killed by U.S. Navy SEALS in Abbottabad, Pakistan, an upscale retirement community where the al-Qaida leader had been staying.
i think those lights should be on every night
I feel much better now that these lights will be on tonight.
