New Jersey – Here’s another reason to steer clear of New Jersey.

Out-of-state E-ZPass users will be stripped of an off-peak discount in the Garden State starting July 1 — which essentially amounts to a 34 percent toll hike.
The toll increases will apply to anyone with an E-ZPass tag issued outside New Jersey — including Port Authority tags, which most New Yorkers have.
And the good news just keeps on pouring in… Did NJ by any chance hire Bloomberg as a consultant?
Which tolls will be affected?
By the way how about eliminating the discount for NJ drivers passing the Verazano Bridge and Brooklyn Battery Tunnel.? If we have to pay them 32 % more lets get even…
Whats the big deal…the state’s roads are falling apart and the state is broke…I’d rather they get the money from the out of state drivers who use the roads rather than raising local taxes. All the rich yidden from Brooklyn driving down to Lakewood may have to pay an extra few dollars for a good cause.
It should be noted that NJ’ers weren’t getting any discounts in a long time anyway so join the club as far as that’s concerned.
However I should point out that in reality EZ Pass users should get discounted toll rates all over as it should be cheaper for the toll agency because they don’t have to hire public sector union members to collect our tolls.
First ez-pass is cheaper, now they wana make it the same, one day it will be even more then cash because you save on traffic
There should be tolls on the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, the Williamsburg Bridge, & the Quensborough Bridge. I would also charge 10 cents for each pedestrian who wants to use those bridges. The day of the free ride (or walk) should be over. It might also discourage excess vehicular traffic in Manhattan.
its an outrage — we should charge new jersey full prices for any tolls that ny have that includes upstate and the city — no breaks. thats the way to get back at them. it should not be one way —- new york city always gets hurt the hardest and enough is enough.
Another reason to take the bus to Atlantic City and not drive.
I believe it’s unconstitutional to discriminate against state vs. out of state residents in this manner particularly if Federal transportation dollars are used for this road’s upkeep.
What’s to stop me from getting another EZpass tag from a relative’s NJ address?
