Manchester, NH – Former New York Gov. George Pataki (pa-TAH’-kee) says the Republican presidential field isn’t taking the nation’s debt and deficit seriously enough.

A potential Republican candidate himself, Pataki says none of the presidential campaigns has focused enough on what he calls the key issue facing America.
His comments came after a roundtable discussion with top state officials Thursday at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at St. Anselm College. Pataki, a three-term governor, says he’s seriously thinking about a run and will make a decision very soon.
Thursday’s visit was Pataki’s third trip this year to the state that holds the opening presidential primary in the nation.
While he was critical of the GOP field, Pataki says that any of the candidates would be a significant upgrade over President Barack Obama.
I’d take him over Obama any day, but he has no chance of winning. Christie, on the other hand….
He’s a nice guy but he has zero chance of being nominated, much less being elected.
Cause he did a geat job in NY??
We need a hard right turn to maybe survive
Pataki is a bit too liberal for me. However, he is very much a populist who would appeal to both Democrats and centrists/independents.
I don’t think I could support him, as I would probably vote for a 3rd party Conservative, but I definitely understand the appeal he would have for average voters.
Wrong of you guys to that! If Obama did so can anyone…
PLEASE PLEASE run! save us from the socialist liberals and republican wackos!
With all due respect, we will not forget so quickly the way he used the DOH and OMRDD for personal gain through his kingpin in Kiryas Joel. We need honesty.
He rammed through the Gay Rights bill, so Yehuda Levin will love him. NOT.
He left the state in horrible fiscal shape. Imagine what he could do for the federal government.
