Beit Shemesh – Thousands To Protest Against Charedi Zealots; Rav Amsellem Visits Na’ama

    53

Ultra-Orthodox Jewish men scuffle with Israeli policemen as they protest against the government's pledge to curb Jewish zealotry in Israel, in the town of Beit Shemesh, near Jerusalem December 26, 2011. Israeli police arrested several ultra-Orthodox protesters on Monday after an officer was injured in the demonstrations in the divided city over demands by zealots to restrict access by women to certain streets. REUTERS/Oren NahshonBeit Shemesh – More than 10,000 people are expected at a rally in Beit Shemesh on Monday to protest the exclusion of women as well as violence against girls and women by Haredi extremists. The rally will begin at 6 P.M., near the Orot Banot school.

Also, On Monday night, MK Chaim Amsellem (Shas ) visited the Margolese family at home and participated in their Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony. Amsellem gave Na’ama a siddur, or prayer book, in which he wrote a dedication: “When you walk to school, an entire nation is behind you.”

The school’s arguably most-famous student is Na’ama Margolese, the 8-year-old American immigrant who became a focal point after Channel 2 news broadcast a story Friday night showing her facing a daily gauntlet of abuse from Haredi extremists as she walks to school. The rally was originally slated to take place in the courtyard of the school, but the venue was changed after organizers said Haredi extremists had threatened violence unless the location were changed.

    its about time too

Its time for normal Israelis to take back their streets. One of the lead stories tonight on the NBC evening news in the U.S. was the story about Na’ama and film clips from Israeli TV of the chareidi animals rioting and attacking the police. What will it take before Netanyahu and his political coalition hacks realize that the real threat to EY are these fringe Charedi fanatics and not the Palestinian settlers.

10,000 won’t be close to enough to impress the zealots. Chareidim can get several thousand people in the streets on a moment’s notice any day of the year.

This whole parsha is sickening from top to bottom. Did Rabbi Akiva fight over separate sidewalks? Did Rabbi Yosef Chaim Zonnenfeld? Did the Baal Shem Tov? There is nothing about this in seforim or in the Shulchan Aruch. This is FAKE KANAYOS. Absolutely fake. THEY ARE NOT KANOYIM. THEY WANT THEIR (SUPER) KOSHER MEDINAH AND ARE ZIONISTS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!

This “on paper” is a very good idea, but I have a feeling that: 1) Instead of Chareidim showing up to show their disgust to these people who desecrate Hashem’s name, we’ll have hordes of Secular/Enlightened/Trouble-seeking people who will just use this opportunity to bash the Charedim once again. 2) It will probably cause a riot and will just “enhance” the already terrible Chillul Hashem!

    We need a better plan!

Unfortunately there are those among charedim who substitute active support for Zionism with highly strange behavior and mental conditions which is similar to Zionism as it gives a chillul hashem from fake piety which is the same koach veotsem yadi as Zionism.

Forget about all the protests, just take these responsible and give them the max behind bars, that will stop this nonsense.

The Haredim were rude to this girl because she was not dressed tznius. Perhaps they should learn that tznius is not just a matter of dress-it is also a matter of behavior. The way they responded to the girl was not tznius because it calls attention to themselves. The lights of the menorah show a lesson by shining in a quiet way. If they want to influence people to be tznius, they should take a lesson from the menorah.

I have been following the Israeli media a long time whenever it is (BH) quiet on the security front they go after the Settlers/Orthodox/Chreidem.

First they tried with the ladies singing in the army(read: orthodox soldiers) then they went after the settlers(read: orthodox)then to the separate seating on the busses (read: Chasidim) when they weren’t getting that much traction the went to the usual suspects the “1 per centers” radicals in Mea Sheurim and B”S where they hit the jackpot as they are always ready for action.

Nobody should fall in their trap, as they don’t give a hoot about “respect for women” or that little girl THIS IS A WAR WAGED AGAINST OBSERVENT JEWS IN THE U.S (Read: Jewish Week   Forwards .) AND ISRAEL!! They are following the playbook used in the 1930’s “take 5% truth + 15% half truth + 80% lies and create a bogyman to incites against!!.

As much as the vast majority despise the zealots among us don’t think for a second the media hates only “them” They hate ALL ORTHRODOX the torah and Hashem!! as the Yevonim did 2500 years ago!!!

This whole story gets me sick. It’s without a doubt that those spitting on girls etc. aren’t more than a handfull to a dozen leidig-giers. The secular media looks out for such opportunities to bash all chareidim.
My question, though, is to the chareidy leaders. Why are you silent? Why is there no derech eretz demanded from your followers?
The answer is that there’s is no leadership, and with a lack thereof, this is the result we get, where everyone tries to prove that he’s an even greater Kanoi when in fact they have no idea about kanoos.

You guys must understand one thing. The extreme radical element is just a minority and are not supported by the mainstream chareidi community. However, here is the catch. Those making noise about the terrible cathastrophy of trying to segregate the sexes are not true blue people with a honest mission. Ask their vives about them great respect to woman. In true, its a racially motivated and driven agenda against the chareidim that’s behind all this. So, you can’t expect the chareidi rabbis to come out and stab themselves by backing their anemies.

Maybe its also time that jewish woman should dress up a bit more modest. Have we completly lost our jewish pride? We find no complacency in what we are only when we dress up like the goyim and ill morals of all sorts?

The only language they understand is beating etc., the protest is worthless, they don’t understand when you speak to them, your voices fall on deaf ears.

Spitting is wrong and screaming at kids is wrong, but then so is not dressing in a tzniusdik fashion wrong. Take a quick look at the picture in this article and you will see that the young girl’s mother is without her hair covered in the appropriate manner and with a low neckline. Two wrongs don’t make aright but there are two wrongs in this situation. Ms. Margolese can undress however she wants in the comfort of her own home but she ought to consider others when she is in the reshus horabim. MK Chaim Amsallem is a maverik who was long ago condemned by Maran HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita. He is a publicity seeker not taken seriously by anyone except Chaim Amsallem.

This comes from a worldwide lack of the schools and parents teaching Derech Eretz b’chlal. No more thank yous, you’re welcomes, or any respect for our elders. When I was last in EY, the pushing, shoving, yelling, honking and other lack of respect made me ill. At the bus station, some punk kid with a bekitcha and longe payis decided he didn’t want to wait in line to get in. I physically pushed him aside and told him where to go. He backed off.

People seem to have forgotten: Derech Eretz Kudmah L’Torah. I’d rather be a secular Jew with no spirituality with Derech Eretz than a frummie with long payis and finished Shas 20 times with no Derech Eretz.

Because not one Rov said anything about the violence in Skver. ‘Rabbi’ Ginzberg had the gall to complain about those who were against the violence. If Rabbis would stick their neck out against one of their own who was acting wrong, they would not have this at their doorstep. Now they are in a pickle. They cannot condone the violence because it is truly wrong. However, Peres is the wrong character to support in such fights. So forever we will be stuck under the feet of provocateurs from both sides.

    Hungary was full of mamzerim…
Now they moved to Beis Shemesh, Skver, Kiryas Yoel and Williamsburg.

These are not kosher Jews, they don’t have the simanim of ‘rachmanim, beishanim and gomlei chasadim’.

If chasidic and hareidi jews want to be extra modest, or any other thing they want to do themselves, it is NO ONES RIGHT to stop them. And it’s ONLY THIS ALONE! that is worthy of reporting to the police.
There is absolutely nothing more to this whole story!
(the bus was a mehadrin bus, and the leftists violently disrupted the innocent lives of all hareidim).

The behavior of both sides is unacceptable. IMO, both sides need to sit down and discuss the situation. The chareidi zealots need to understand that these are, for the most part, Americans who are dressing in an acceptable manner for America. The modern orthodox, on the other hand, need to understand the type of sheltered upbringing the chareidim had and why their mode of dress is regarded by them as not tzniusdik.
That said, the Americans seem to be provoking the chareidim. They had photographers waiting to record the chareidi reaction to a lady walking past a chareidi bais medresh. The lady’s hair was not covered properly according to most shitos; she had short sleeves about a tefach above the elbow; she wasn’t wearing socks; and, she was walking a dog. The photographers, one of whom I knew, shot their footage of the chareidim yelling “pritzus” and then posted it on YouTube, thus making a further chilul Hashem.
Most frum ladies who encounter a cluster of men on a sidewalk would have skirted the group instead of walking defiantly past/through it.
The bottom line is: we have enough enemies, we don’t need to fight each other. Achdus, achdus, achdus.
