The conservative group Judicial Watch has sued for release of the materials under Freedom of Information Law, and they apparently have a case, The Atlantic Wire reports.

Former Justice Department privacy official Dan Metcalfe told the Website that a government brief in the case effectively concedes “portions of the records that are legally required to be disclosed.”

That could mean redacting portions of the images that show U.S. military personnel or technology, but not the slain terror leader, according to the report.

This Judicial Watch lawsuit serves no purpose than to put U.S. soldiers and citizens serving overseas at risk. The military has said that public release of the photos may inflame arab passions. I know the usual suspects will scream, “they will kill anyway” but why risk even one life for this sick obcession with seeing these bloody photos of UBL>

What a bunch a baby comments I see here. Not releasing the photos is a smart move.

You don’t believe that the guy is dead? No problem! You most likely won’t believe it with the pictures either.

The commentators that are crying for the release of the “proof ” are acting like spoiled children.

Does anyone around here care about the reaction around the world and the demand for revenge by the bloodthirsty Arabs that will stop at nothing to prove it? No! I didn’t think so! Since none of you have any relatives in the US army!

Leave the dead beast where he lies…. wherever that may be. The one moment of satisfaction seeing the dead Bin Laden is not worth the years of hardship our troops will face.

Even one dead American soldier is not worth the publicity of the debated photos!

We want blood! We want to see dead bodies! We want gore! We want to parade them through the streets!

Ghoulish, prurient death-pornography. That’s all this is.

Well, that and more recruiting posters for Al Qaeda.
