Police almost changed the route of the march this year over fear of Jewish–Arab clashes in Jerusalem’s Old City. The march was authorized after Rabbi Chaim Druckman and other religious-Zionist leaders met with police commanders and promised to avoid confrontation.

The traditional route takes celebrants from King George street to the Western Wall (Kotel) via the Yafo Gate and Shechem Gate of the Old City.

What a beautiful sight to see Jews mekadesh Shem shomayim in our ir hakodesh. The Happiness and spiritual elevation is evident as one looks at these pictures of yom yerushalayim. It is in stark contrast to the black dour and sour mood evident in the citified Asifa , where closed mindlessness rules and exclusion of all other strains of yiddishkeit is evident. It’s a disgrace that no more chareidim joined yom yerushalayim but that they managed to exclude everyone else to their fest. , including their own sisters, mothers and wives.

Wouldn’t it have been a moment of redemption and hope ,if there would have been just was one speaker at the Asifa who would have mentioned that the day was Yom Yerushalayim. I’ve ebeen in touch by cell with participants and as of 8:30 pm – no one mentioned the historical significance of the day. In addition, no one at least acknowledged the pain of the protesters who should have some Rachmanus directed toward them. Only Din & G’Vurah. A little chesed and humility could have gone a long way .Triumphalism and fire& brimstone mussar speeches have never produced the balance that we all need in our relationship with Hashem individually and as a Klal..

The last four pics refer to “Right wing” the first of which is just a 4 or 5 year old boy! Give me a break. What about some honest reporting?
