New Delhi – Israel Wants Hitler Clothing Shop In India Renamed

An Indian woman walks past a store named 'Hitler' in Ahmedabad, India, 01 September 2012. Reports state that the owner of the shop has said he would only change the name if he was reimbursed for the costs of rebranding, as Israel's consul-general in Mumbai criticised the naming of the store. The owner reportedly claims not to have known who Adolf Hitler was until he opened the shop on 20 August. EPA/STRNew Delhi – Israel has complained to the Indian state of Gujarat about a menswear shop there named “Hitler.”

Israel’s consul general to the city of Mumbai, Orna Sagiv, says she asked state officials Monday to intervene to help get the store’s name changed.

She said she tried to explain to them “how grave and serious the issue is.”

The shop opened last month with a huge sign reading “Hitler” and a Nazi swastika inside the dot in the letter “i.”

The owner said he didn’t know about Hitler’s history when the name was suggested by his partner, whose stern grandfather was nicknamed Hitler.

The Nazi dictator who led the extermination of Jews in World War II Europe is a subject of routine fascination in India.

Indian stores are not controlled by the state. Why is Israel making noise over every little issue? It is up to the locals to either boycott the store or not to if they don’t see it as a problem that concerns their everyday lives. Antisemitism is rare and almost non existent in India’s culture. And this store is not selling Antisemitic merchandise.

Is it really Israel’s place to meddle in some small town thing like this? What about the “soup nazi” of Seinfels fame?

I believe the “Soup Nazi” is out of business.

Really dumb – israel shouldnt be the thought police for the world – only feeds antisemitism – this is another reason Hashem in His Wisdom prohibited zionism in His Torah

The soup nazi is a strong intellectual display of disregard for humanity as depicted in the eyes of a counterpart, the soup kitchen chef. This is not an endorsement of naziism and it is clearly not a depiction of naziism in a light of substantiation.
Thus this is kosher and quite funny to everyone who has ever watched this show who has any level of a sense of humor.

The Store owner is a lier (I think -u bet he knew ) but I would butt out of their stupid no taste store name. Imagine a store named pig , mamzer ,murderer or basted -hitler was all four -but we shouldn’t care too hoots about the silly names
