Miami, FL – Report: Missing Florida Millionaire May Be Alive And Hiding Out In The Netherlands

Guma AguiarMiami, FL – There may be a lead in the case of Guma Aguiar, the missing Florida millionaire, after reports surfaced that Aguiar’s sister, Angelika, is moving to the Netherlands. A close business partner of Aguiar already resides there.

Aguiar disappeared from his Rio Vista home on June 19, leaving his wife, four children, and a $100 million behind. Surveillance footage captured Aguiar in his boat heading out to sea that afternoon. His boat was recovered, but the Coast Guard was unable to find him or a body. There was no evidence of foul play. Now the attorney for Aguiar’s wife, Jamie, wants to know if Aguiar is hiding out in the Netherlands.

“It could be a coincidence, but Jamie hopes there’s information about her husband and that he may still be alive, so we’ll see,” attorney William Scherer told CBS 4 (

Since Aguiar’s disappearance, both his wife and his mother have been waging an intense legal battle for control of his estate, including who will get possession of over a dozen properties belonging to Aguiar in Israel. Aguiar’s mother contends that her son gave these properties to her and his sisters.

Scherer says Aguiar’s sisters have yet to be deposed in the case and have managed to avoid being subpoenaed. “We want to know what, if anything, they know about Guma’s disappearance,” Scherer said.

Aguiar has been classified by Fort Lauderdale police as missing.
