The union representing the city’s school bus drivers is threatening to strike, in a dispute over job protection.
At issue is a new bus contract that could mean some drivers would lose their jobs.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg says contingency plans are in place in case of a walkout. The city’s precautions include providing extra Metro Cards for students in case a strike happens.
Companies that operate yellow buses have also been preparing by posting job ads seeking replacement workers.
City Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott will meet with reporters Sunday afternoon to update the negotiations.
Terrrible, awful. Parents and kids will have to get up and maybe walk (I hope vosizneias nevel peh policy doesn’t kick in) to school. I hope that attendance doesn’t go down, major federal bucks would be lost and Michelle’s lunch program would suffer from disuse. Awful, I’m chalishing.

Yay. No traffic. Oh.. um down with the unions.
